Service Initiatives
These are Measure K initiatives where new money is budgeted every year, and a Community-Based Organization (CBO) or a County Department is providing a direct service to County residents. Measure K Services are divided into 90 different initiatives, each with multiple performance measures to track. Within the priority areas of Children, Families, and Seniors there are 78 performance measures and targets; Housing and Homelessness has 44 performance measures and targets; Emergency Preparedness has 23 performance measures and targets; and Other has 3.
Examples of some initiatives include:
- Raising a Reader Program – which provides reading events at preschools throughout the County, giving parents a great opportunity to engage their children with reading and literacy
- Mobile Health Street Medicine – which provides full health assessments for residents experiencing homelessness, and measures at least four different performance metrics.
